Who is Sanders?
RoseMarie Sanders is a choreographer and dance contemporary artist who began dancing around 5 at a dance summer camp where she began her training in ballet. Sanders began at the young age of 8 to take her passion for dance more seriously; she joined the Character Counts Dance Company, which was founded and directed by Solomon Espie. She praised dance at many churches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as well as traveled around Texas to dance at different dance conventions. During her last year with the company, she began to take many different dance modern based dance classes, and dance in a few musicals before she joined Happy Nia Dance Theater Productions. Not long after, Sanders went to the W.E. Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy to continue her education as well as expand her knowledge as an artist. She trained in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, and hip hop for the 3 years she attended. During her last year, she became a part of the W.E. Greiner Dance Company and the Beckles “Dancing” Company. She continued with Beckles for the next 5 years and continued to train in ballet and modern before graduating high school and attending Texas Woman University. In December 2022, she graduated with a BA in Dance Studies and a minor in Small Business. Sanders currently is continuing to expand her artistry in improvisation as well as learning more about video productions and photography.

Teaching Statement
As a dance instructor, I want my students to feel comfortable and confident in their skills and abilities. I do not want them to feel that they need to push themselves in order to learn and grow. It’s a step by step process and I feel that students should not be pressured into passing their limits unless they personally are ready. From there I can help guide them to where they want to be.
Artist Statment
The story creates itself whether I have any influence on it or not. Sometimes there is music that helps and other times it is just piecing the phrases together. Most of my works are the reflection of my state of being and I try not to force or plan anything. I take it day by day and when the final results are done, I don’t allow myself to be apologetic for my work. If I do, I would be neglecting my emotions in those moments.
